I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?
I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?
haha am I the first international member? woohoo!!! XD I love this page alot. I read the invitation message on FB last night and I joined right after I read it. lol thanks for the welcome and creating this awesome page!!! <3 :-D
Lol yes they have the best sandwiches. But sometimes when I'm On break I complain there's no food to eat when im in a grocery store lol you just get sick of everything
Thanks for the warm welcome. My husband got back from a 7-month deployment in october and I just am thankful everyday that he's still here with me safe and unharmed. I hated the lonely nights, never putting down your phone to make sure you never missed a call, watching others with their significant others and wishing you could just hold him, tearing up when you finally hear his voice and read his letters (and saving all of them)... it takes a special kind of woman to love a man in the military and fortunately there are a good few of us out there.
Thanks again, and I hope and pray that your boyfriend comes home safe and sound :)

Hi Alee, and thanks again for the welcome as well as creating this community for us. Yes, like many family members, I have been through multiple deployments. I don't have the answers, or solutions; but if I can share what I have been through and let just one person out there know that they are not alone, then it is worth it. We are all together in this, no matter what branch, and sharing can only make us stronger.
Thank you!!! I'm going to do that. Yes, my family is all military. My grandfather was in Korea during the Korean War and my Great-uncle was on Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.
Well, to be completely honest, I'm not sure how I get through them. There's no such thing as getting use to it. Some days are great and others completely suck but each day is a new day and we make the best of it. I don't dwell on the fact that he's gone but I also allow myself to break down and cry if I need to. I try to stay busy and keep in a routine. I have a to-do list of all the things I need to or I'd like to complete before he gets back so it keeps me motivated. Every deployment has been a different experience for me so I handle it accordingly.
