I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Comment by Katie Garcia on March 19, 2012 at 12:47pm make a list of things that you will do when he comes home for 10 days after boot! :) plan a fancy date with him and buy a smokin dress (of course he wears the dress blues) hang out with friends and a little retail therapy can help any problem ;) feel free to vent to me! been there done that girl. boot is tough but it's also so romantic to get letters! try to just think of all the positives.
Comment by Debbie Richardson on March 7, 2012 at 10:20pm I surrounded myself with people who said they wanted to help out by sending letters & care packages. When I heard from our marine, I would send out mass emails with what we could talk about via email. I kept busying answering questions from people from all over the country. A bunch of us moms planned across the country baby showers for the girls we knew were having babies while their loved ones were gone. we also picked one wife to be a pen pal with and that helped both of us a great deal. I would send memory boxes to my son....silly things, like a baby jar full of dirt & grass from a football game that was won...some stinky dust from the wrestling room in a baggy with a photo of him during a practice. Found some fishing photos and sent a small rod & reel, just in case he came across a lake (we all knew that wouldn't happen, but one of his men got a bucket & a rubber duck and let him fish for that) Good luck to all of you that are here at home.
Comment by Kylie Peters on February 26, 2012 at 3:11pm @Kayla he's leaving for the Marines. & That is cute thank you!!

Comment by Kayla Virgin on February 24, 2012 at 4:11pm What is he leaving for? I've only went through all the trainings & he is at the MOS right now across the country! But what I do, is work & research all the stuff he's doing! Right now I'm tryin to get a package together to send him, I want it to be a bunch of things that will make him smile! Lol but hearing from him in all the various ways help the most! Also I have countdowns on my phone & watching the days go by knowing its getting closer & closer helps alot too! :) But goodluck!! :) & I hope you find something to help you pass the time! :)
