I feel like I don't necessarily fit in nor will I fit in with the military wife/family thing.

My fiance and I are to wed in less than a month when he comes home, he is currently stationed in Hawaii. However, I will remain in our hometown of Columbus while he goes back to his base.

I will not relate with the whole living on or near to the base.

I will not relate to having a whole bunch of Army wives as friends since there's no base here.

We will soon enter a marriage and yet it feels like he's leaving for deployment again minus the war zone (thank god!!! at least for a bit)

It flipping sucks!

I feel the same way My husband and I got married shortly before he deployed and I don't live on base. I'm having a hard time finding people to talk to who "get it"

and Jennifer, i will def. go look at the sites. I was thinking about it and there has to be plenty or army reserve wives here in ohio, right?! lol they might somehow understand A BIT!

Definately look into other sites for information and support in addition to this one.  i've found www.militaryonesource.com  www.myarmylifetoo.com and www.baseguide.com to all be useful resources.  you may also want to try connecting with some NG wives/gf's here and in your local area.  NG families deal with being spread out and without local support all the time, so they may have extra tips for you.

Here's something I was told, and I absolutely love it.

One of the most beautiful things about the military is that you're never alone.

Sure there isn't an abundance of military spouses that you can go grab a cup of coffee with, but there's us here on CamoConnect. There are other Military SO support sites. In all of these places, I guarantee you will find somebody who has been in your place and has advice for you.
