I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Today marks a year. It's my first anniversary with Patrick.
This year has really been proven to me what you can jam pack in to 365 days (er, we had an extra day in February, so it's 366).
In a year, I've become a girlfriend for the first time, and that changed to be an army girlfriend when Patrick left for basic 2 short months later. I've been a part of 6 plays (2 are in progress). Graduated high school, decided a dream, and got my first job.
In a year, I've watched Patrick truly become a man.
In a year, he left everything he ever knew and loved to pursue a dream of being a doctor. He graduated BCT. He also graduated AIT, and by doing so, became a qualified combat medic. One step closer to his dream.
In the past year, I didn't get to be physically with him for his 20th birthday, but he got to be there for my 18th, a week later. We spent our first Christmas together. He was with me for the anniversary of my uncle's death, and we kissed when the new year ball dropped. We both spent valentine's day physically alone, but not at heart. We texted each other the whole day. Two months ago, I wished nothing more than to be with him on the anniversary of his father's death.
In the past year, Patrick and I have only physically been together a total of about 3 months. We've had to let go of each other 4 times. God only knows how much money we've spent on ink, paper, and postage.
In the past year, Patrick and I have both become adults.
I can't wait to see what the next year brings us. <3
