I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

When a loved one deploys it is a very sad ordeal. It is tough to think of the holidays they will miss and all the memorable times they will miss out on. So, I decided to share these holidays and memorable times with my boyfriend, Mike, before he left! How you might ask? Well, I threw him a surprise "All Holidays Party"! I took it upon myself to let Mike share all the holidays with our family and loved ones even though they weren't technically on the holiday. I don't like the fact that I have to experience holidays without him so I decided to change this.
So, I began with designating each corner of the house with a specific holiday. I made a list of all the holidays he would be missing out on, and I created a corner for each special day. It is as easy as getting a banner that says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Easter". Then I got many balloons and matched the color of the balloons with the holiday. The decorations turned out perfect!
I picked a general type of food and for the dessert we had birthday cake. We even went as far as singing Mike "Happy Birthday" and Christmas carrols. It was a fun filled night and everyone enjoyed celebrating with Mike. Mike had a great time and really appreciated every detail that went into creating every holiday. Plus we took a picture in front of each holiday corner and when the deployment started, I sent him the picture on each holiday we had taken the picture. He truly loved this and I feel it would be something great to try!
Here is the "Birthday Corner"
