CAMO - Connecting All Military Others
Sunday was my highschool graduation. I had to be awake at 6:30. Around 7 I was getting ready. All I had done was put on my dress when he called on Skype. The first thing I said was "What are you doing awake at 1am??" (He's one of those people that goes to bed every night at 10. It's like clockwork). He was saying he couldn't sleep. Likely story.
So, we listened and danced to music together via Skype as he watched me brush my teeth and do my hair and makeup.
It was the first time in a long time that I was the one that had to hang up and leave.
Along with wearing his dog tags, I carried his army photo that usually resides in my wallet. I was holding the picture the entire time (except when walking across the stage, where the only place I had to put it was my cleavage. *smh*)
After the ceremony, I learned that even though he was asleep, his mom was texting him a play-by-play the whole time. When I Skyped with him that afternoon, he said he woke up to about 70 texts with only one being from me (graduates weren't allowed to have phones).
...and that is how my love was at my graduation with me in Florida, from all the way in Hawaii.
