Matt and I haven't been together for two long - we've only known each other for four months! We have had the most fairytale relationship - those are his words exactly. This summer we're going through our first deployment, just a few months, and then I get him back for a year before he goes away for a long deployment!

As some of you may or may not have seen today, my boyfriend shipped out to spend most of the summer away today. Most of his time will be spend in Africa. I have been a complete and utter mess...we have a long distance relationship in addition to him being in the army so it's been a hard road together. Before he left, I made him a book full of our pictures together with little notes of why that picture was in the book, what memory was attached to it. Awe! See? If he didn't think you could handle it or if he didn't want you there when he got back, he wouldn't put you through it! Start thinking about living up there. I always think about how I want to decorate and stuff. :P it makes it better and makes me happy to think about doing all of that together. Plus, it keeps your mind from thinking about him not being there and it makes you look forward to things to come when he's home.

No problem. I'm going through deployment right now as well. We all understand and are always here to talk to. If you ever need to vent, shoot me a message or comment. You just have to stay positive. Look forward to things going on when he comes one. My boyfriend asked me to move into a new house/apartment with him when he comes home. I keep that in mind and it keeps me busy. Try that :) I promise it helps.

Hey girl. I keep seeing your posts. Don't EVER question whether or not you're supposed to be an Army girlfriend. He loves you for a reason and wouldn't put you through this if he didn't think you could do it. What you're feeling is what we all feel from time to time. You just have to keep in mind that he'll be home soon. Be strong!
