I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Hey! Sorry, I haven't been on much lately! How amazing was PIR?! It was the most exciting and proud day of my life :) Is he still in Great Lakes or has he moved on to Groton yet? My husband is an MM-3 in Power School for nuclear engineering. He's only got a few weeks left, then he starts prototype school. We might have to move to NY! Yikes!
Hey! A fellow Memphian! And a Navy SO! Never thought I'd see the day, actually!
sometimes you need that time apart to grow and realize what you really want! i'm glad that things worked out for you!
Hey! Thanks for the add! What's your story? It's always nice to have other Navy people to talk to! Haha :)
I know what you mean! The first night I went out, the band (wasn't one we had seen together just some random band) randomly played a cover of our song. No wonder I was in tears by the time I saw his friend! haha. Yeah his school is so long (2 years) that it didn't make sense for me not to go with him! We probably won't know until next April. A long time! We actually met in high school, we both played lacrosse so we had some friends in common but were never really friends ourselves although we knew each other. Then we graduated and I went away to college, and moved home after college and ran into him one night when I was out with my friends and he was working, I didn't even know he worked there! And we started talking, and made plans to hang out a few nights later, and just hit it off! How did you and your boyfriend meet?
Well my family was in the middle of moving when Steve was in boot camp so I had him send the letters to my work! That is so mean-why would her roommate do that? People who don't go through it have no idea and don't realize how hard it is! That's just evil! I cried a lot too, I remember the first night I went out with my friends after he left, I ran into one of his friends and as soon as he asked me about Steve I started bawling in the bar because I hadn't gotten my letter yet but the other mothers and wives had! He's still in school actually, finishing up his C-school to be a Sonar Tech. Actually he has about a year left. We love it out here... I hope we get to stay but we don't know where we'll be stationed after this!
Boot camp was awful for me! I was a member of a group for my husband's division, so it was all moms and girlfriends and I kept hearing from them that they were getting their first letters and phone calls and I wasn't! I was freaking out. I had to leave work early one day because I couldn't stop crying! Then his parents got a letter and I still didn't... I felt really bad. We still don't know why it took so long for me to get my first letter because he sent it at the same time he sent his parents! After that they came regularly. And he was getting his wisdom teeth removed when his divison got to make their first phone calls so I didn't get that either! I was a wreck lol. But at least you're on the down side of it now!
It'll pass by quick trust me :) and yes it's amazing! where will he be going to A-school??
I remember those days! It will start to fly by pretty soon if it hasn't already! If you have any questions I'd be happy to help! So will he be on a sub?
I'm sure your countdown is on! I hope you get to go to his graduation! Such an incredible experience. Do you know where he is going for A school after boot camp?
