Preparing for my hubby's first deployment. Anything I should know?

My husband is leaving for his first deployment to Afghanistan in Sept 2012 for 6 months. I'm trying to prepare myself for it. It's going to be hard. My Mom did it for 22 years with my dad in the Coast Guard. He spent more time on a boat out to sea then he did on land during his enlistment. I keep telling myself if she could do it so can I. Afghanistan is a scary place right now and it's hard not to worry. What have you done to help get through a deployment of a loved one to a combat zone?See More
