I am 18 and my boyfriend has recently joined the Army. He is in BCT at the moment. When he gets done with BCT and AIT, I wanted to see if he wanted to get married that way we could live together. We plan on living on base. My question is will they…Continue

I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Today I will go and mourn a man I never met and the two who fell with him. I will stand and support my soldier as he remembers what has to be the most horrific day in his life. I will be strong for him and his friends and brothers because that is what a military wife does. I will be proud because these men made the ultimate sacrafice for their country. I will listen to the stories of war even as I know many of these men will be returning to deployment soon. As much as it hurts me, I will…

Someone shared this on her facebook page and I thought all of you might appreciate it also.
A Military Man's Promise: I can't promise you every night of my life. I can't promise to be beside you for every difficult moment, every trial, and every hardship. In truth, I can promise you that I will not be with you for most. I will leave you at inconvenient times. Any... special date to us may be tainted with the…

As for the promotions, if he does not like what he goes through in AIT when it comes to Artillery, then he plans on transferred to the University of Memphis and joining ROTC. He has been told once he graduates, he will be a 2nd Lieutenant. From there I think he would just go to Active Army and make it a career. If he does well at BCT and AIT, he should get promoted to an SPC (what is that? And E3 or E4?)
I just hate living with uncertainty. I need a plan for everything and This doesn't let me know really. You know? Oh well. So far, other than thinking so Drill are incredibly boring, he absolutely loves what he is doing. So, what ever he decides to do, I will support him. After almost three years of dating, I am not looking at wasting my time with simple dating.
When he joins his unit, do they explain a deployment schedule? Mainly I just really know what the Calvary's job is and where they are located when they are deployed and what is their job.
Was he just diagnosed with Diabetes? That really sucks. My little cousin was disgonsed with Diabetes a few years ago. He knew something was wrong and he didn't tell his parents. They found him up in the middle of the night.
