Comment by Megan Hall on July 17, 2012 at 10:03am I have a 4 month old and my husband is at basic right now and doesn't come back until november and there are times where she cries and I know she's crying for him...Any advice?
Comment by Dana Rae Burnell on June 27, 2012 at 6:09am My husband is deployed right now and is coming back in October. He will be gone for a yr. We have done so many things. I always make sure the kids are apart of the packages we send. They help make things, pick stuff out and even taping up the boxes. We also have made a paper chain to count down days and they made a flag and hung it on our wall. I also bought a HUGE jar and filled it with kisses for ever day he was going to be gone and each of my kids got a "kiss" from daddy before bedtime. I think one of the best things we did was they each recorded a book from hallmark about their dad and we mailed it to him so it was fun for the kids and was great for him!! We also bought a globe and marked where we are, where their dad is and where we are going to be stationed next! There are so many things to do but would love more ideas to keep us busy the rest of the time!
Yeah, I hope more people join too!!
As for myself, my partner is due to deploy next year and will be the first-time for me being a mother and my daughter. I have been through deployments before, and understand them fully and know how cr*p it is at times. But now being a mother it is gonna be a totally different experience and by there for our daughter reassuring her daddy is ok.
xx

Comment by Dana Rae Burnell on June 25, 2012 at 7:33am I'm surprised no one is having discussions!!
Hi everyone,
I created this group for us parents with Military kids, so we can all share any advice, tips, absence emotions (when they are missing there parent/s whilst on exercise, tour etc....). Or even vent and praise how they are.
xx
