We are going to Fort Carson in October. Anyone know any info about FRGs or what there is to look forward to? What is there fun for kids to do?

Hmm I havent done the whole twitter thing, nor have I been to an FRG meeting. My husband spends a lot of time out in the field. Most of the guys he works with are like family to us. We have them over for dinner and BBQs a lot. I also send a lot of care packages over seas to friends and people that dont really have anoyone. I feel I can do my part without surrounding myself with people who think they are better then you. It would just be nice to meet some gals to hang out with while the guys are in the field.

Mattie, I had to laugh at your comment. I've been called stuck up bc I refuse to play the rank game here at Carson. Thankfully due to my job on post, I met some awesome women, who arent stuck up or wear their husband's rank. I'm not really into the FRG games either. I like to find people who are just people, not HOOAH Army wives. And yes, I have found it more difficult at Carson rather than the other places I've been. But just keep looking, there are great wives out there looking for a down to earth spouse too. Oh, and Twitter! I have so many online Army spouse friends, where you can find people that have other things in common with you, not just your husband's career.

We have been here since November of last year. I don't know if it is hard to meet people here or if I am just picky as to who I want to talk to. It seems everyone around here is stuck up or wears their husbands rank around like they earned it. I am very down to earth and like to make friends not competition. I want friends I have fun with, without them constantly trying to one-up me.
