I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

When our oved ones are away we have to hold on to our memories. Are there any special days that you replay? For me there are too many. I dont think of one day but all the little things I miss. I miss running and jumping into his arms everyday after work. One day that sticks out in my head is when we got our favorite chipotle and golden spoon and went down to Dana Point to watch Dexter at the beach. People probably thought we were crazy but we just layed on a blanket and watched Dexter. Then after we just layed there laughing in the sun and wrestling, again probably looking crazy.

Permalink Reply by Stephanie Skinner on March 26, 2012 at 11:18pm for me, it would be his last day here. we (daughter, him, myself) went out to dinner, than to walmart. The baby and I went running through the store to buy a card, a stuffed animal, and a stamp pad. we put her hand print in the card, and the animal looked like a parent sheep holding a lamb. He was really happy. Natalie even used a pen and 'signed' a card. Her daddy really loved the handprint in the card.
Permalink Reply by Monica Kelly (MK Marketing) on March 27, 2012 at 6:53am We have been together for over 20 years, we have had so many wonderful memories! I would say the day that is currently in my head was the day he came home from his deployment.
Permalink Reply by Tessa Hlavaty on March 27, 2012 at 12:03pm One of my favorite days still was the day we first met eachother! It was through mutual friends and we spend the entire day fishing, then headed to a country concert. I knew after that day he would always hold a special place in my life.
Permalink Reply by Casey Polzin on March 27, 2012 at 12:53pm our wedding day on March 1st, 2012 :) I flew down to Pensacola that morning. We reunited and had one of the most amazing hugs I could have imagined. We got married later on that afternoon. It was such a gorgeous day out & we both had so many emotions. Definitely one of the best days we've ever had :)
So many to think about! It's crazy because we've shared some amazing memories with each other. Like when we first met, he made me dinner and we just talked for hours, watched a movie and snuggled. The next day we climbed up a mountain and he just broke down and was so open with me. But the moments that touch me the most are actually when we are apart. We're able to really express our feelings knowing that we cannot wait to see each other again. So my favorite moment was when I had 3 missed calls from him and I luckily answered the 4th right before his convoy and he said "Hey, I just have to remind you about a few things before I leave" So I thought they were things I had to do with our dog or around the house and he says "Do you have a pen & paper? okay.. 1. I miss you and I love you, 2. You are so beautiful and 3. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you" it made my heart smile. :)
Permalink Reply by Kelsey Ann Young on March 28, 2012 at 9:02pm I would say our best day..was his family day on Parris Island..after not seeing him for 3 months..I ran and jumped into his arms..and every doubt i ever had melted away. He told me how much he loved me and how my letters got him through bootcamp :) it was something I'll never forget. Both our families were there. It was a perfect gorgeous day and I'll never forget it
Permalink Reply by Molly Woodworth on March 29, 2012 at 11:06am Every day is an awesome day, but the very best day was when he came back from deployment.
We were friends in high school but we never were an item... because I was his best friend's girlfriend. We fell out of contact and, seven years later, he started talking to me again on Facebook, while deployed. We struck it off amazingly and I didn't let the distance deter me from being his girlfriend (now wife!).
When he came back it was the best day ever. I jumped up and RAN to where he got off the escalator at the airport and started hugging him and he still thinks it's hilarious and sweet looking back on it. It was my first time seeing him in person since high school... it was a day I won't ever forget :)
Permalink Reply by JaimieLee Moores on April 1, 2012 at 12:14am My Marine and I went to middle school together. And we reconnected during his deployment and haven't seen each other yet, but the MC ball is in 19 days and I WILL SEE HIM! YAY! But there are two memories... one was in 8th grade, a mutual friend convinced us to slow dance and he was SO NERVOUS his hands were 200 degrees and sweaty and he looked like he was gonna pass out. And then the second was the first time I saw him cry talking about the deployment on skype. That was the moment I fell in love with him.
Permalink Reply by Paola Claudio on April 12, 2012 at 6:18pm For me it was the suprising day of December 16th when he was suprisingly sent home DURING basic training for Christmas. I never in my life have i felt such a overwhelming feeling of being with someone i love. I never didnt realize how much i was suffering with him being gone until he came home. I struggled so much not having him home to listen to his voice every night. I thank God i was given that opportunity to spend those three weeks with him . We experienced so many different emotions and grew alot closer. I love my soldier ! <3
Permalink Reply by Chey Leigh on April 15, 2012 at 10:49pm I honestly cant pick ONE favorite day... Ive been friends with Nick for the past 12 years. Every day I have ever spent with him is my favorite, for different reasons.
One of my most recent favorite days with him, was the day before he left. Him and his sister came and picked me up, We went and got pizza ( i think we got pizza... I might be wrong), then went back to his house. We hung out with his sister and his mom until we left. We went to Portland with his step dad for the night... We ended up getting our own room at the hotel. We stayed up until about two am.
We talked about music, and friends, and everything. It was the best.
The next morning, not so much. Had to wake up at four am, to be at the airport at 530. & I watched him walk away... And cried the whole two hours home. <3
Permalink Reply by Amber Celeste Phillips on April 23, 2012 at 9:20am It's really hard to pick just one. The day we met in person really stands out. A guy I grew up with was in his unit and they were deployed together, so he "introduced" us via Facebook. We spent 3 months skyping and he wanted me to be there when his unit returned. I was having a panic attack the whole drive to the base because I was so nervous, but when I saw him and hugged him and kissed him for the first time, it felt so natural and easy. It was like I'd known him and loved him my whole life.
But since being together...my favorite day is probably the last date we had in NC before he PCS'd. Our favorite restaurant is an expensive Brazilian steakhouse, and I wanted to take him there before he left. I had just bought a new little black dress and without even asking him, he dressed up too. So we went to this really expensive restaurant and even bought a bottle of delicious Sangria. The way he kept looking at me, even if he didn't say anything, his eyes were so full of love. He even teared up a little when he said he was going to miss me. The night was perfect.
