I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Hi Ladies!

Okay so I'm interested in knowing what you gals do to keep yourselves busy when the absence of your loved one starts to get the best of you. I'm in a situation where most of my friends are couples, so they're usually busy with one another, or I end up being the third wheel which doesn't exactly help my situation.

I work full-time, but I absolutely HATE being in the house alone (my girlfriend and I lived together for 6 months before she left for bootcamp). I find myself trying to stay busy ALL the time; but sometimes I just end up in a daze.

So how do YOU occupy your thoughts and time when the sadness begins to weigh you down?

Comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Think of the times ahead!  Like what Mike and I have planned for when he gets home :)  Just dont think negative!

Thanks for your response. What do you do at home to keep yourself busy so you don't get lost in your thoughts?

I work full-time, too so that consumed a lot of my time. We have a puppy so he took up my time when I was home, I also found TV shows that I kept up with. Did stuff around the house - maybe buy some herbs and plant them and put them on the window - it'll give you something to keep your focus on. Get into cleaning, and give yourself a hobby like finding the best mexican restaurant in the area. So that means you have to go out to dinner a lot and explore :)

Thank you for your responses! It means a lot that you took the time to comment. I just recently started working out. I am already pretty slim (5'7" and 135 lbs), but I'm out of shape. I'm trying to quit smoking lol. Besides a full-time job, working out has been keeping me busy. I'm also trying to find a hobby to get into that works around my schedule. Thanks again! :)

Hey! Keep your chin up...it's not easy! I work out and read a lot. It consumes a lot of time after work. Or surf the net, come on this website, or play online games or games on my phone with other people. There are some days it's just not easy to fill the space, and that's ok too. We can't always be strong even if we try our hardest :) But just remember that brighter days are ahead!
