I need to vent.

Okay, soooo last week Cody and I talked a ton... Valentine's and all...

Thursday was the last day we talked.  I sent him a long email explaining how it sucks that he has barely talked to me.  His friends are always online, so I know he can get on. Anyways, he replied to it A WEEK LATER.... explaining that he hasn't been able to talk to me because he has been pranking on his free time... am I being dramatic... or is that really annoying!? He sent me a huge novel about the pranks he has been doing... all I wanted was for him to try a little harder... I may regret this later... but all I said was "Glad king neptune is more important than your girlfriend.  have fun." (He mentioned something about King neptune in his pranking.)

SO ANNOYING! I just want to talk to my boyfriend.... and he should know better to have a better excuse.

So I know Tommy and I have only been together for just under 2 months, but having known him for 9 years, I can kind of understand. Like I will go 4-5 days w/o talking to him sometimes, I never really mention it, but it 1. freaks me out b/c he's over in afghanistan and I know that probably at any minute they could possibly be attacked so when 4-5 days go by, I'm like "please God don't let him be dead" even when we were just friends during his deployments I've always tried to check in w/ him about once a week to make sure he was okay. But I just want to talk to him, even though I've known him for 9 years, I haven't physically seen him in about 3 years, so I want to talk to him as much as I can to kind of make up for not seeing him for so long. Plus I want to know as soon as he finds out when he's going to leave Afghan. B/c then I can count down the 15 days he has to be in Alaska before he comes to see me.

But just as a girlfriend period, even if I were in a normal long distance relationship, yeah I'd be upset if my boyfriend was goofing off for his entire free time so as to not be able to even send one freaking email. Even if it was like one short paragraph he could have sent SOMETHING!

exactly! thank you for understanding... i know it sounds so needy.... but i know everyone here has to understand.  it just really sucks, because i tried talking to him about being better at communicating... we have to communicate at least a little to keep this relationship going! just sucks.  but he's worth it, so I'm going to tough it out.

Oh don't worry about sounding needy, I fully admit I'm needy as everything. For the 5 minutes I did get to talk to my boyfriend I asked him if he was ready to come see me and he said "of course i am" and then I asked if he really actually wanted to be dating me, and he was like yeah, and I told him he's always been so calm and controlled when I freak out, whether it's over insecurities or b/c of my bi polar, he's just calm, let's me do my thing, go crazy, rant, whatever, and then he's just kind of like 'okay, are we done w/ this? can we move on?" and sometimes I try and demand answers and he never really gives in, he lets me calm down and then we talk.

hahah right, i think every girlfriend can get like that.  well i just hate to sound like i dont want him to have fun... because i do... i just wish i was a higher priority like i used to be.  maybe he just has to readjust to his surroundings.

How long is he gone?

This is the very very end of Tommy's 3rd. I think Afghanistan twice and Iraq once. I THINK, I can't remember. This deployment was a year long I believe, but Tommy and I have only been together just under 2 months. But I've still been his friend and made sure he was okay and alive through all 3 deployments. When we were just friends, sometimes it was just as simple as me leaving him an offline message on yahoo messenger asking "are you still alive" and I'd get an offline message saying "yes, it'll take a lot to kill me".

and his deployment is about 6.5 months total.  he's not in afghan or anything, which makes me feel a little better... i couldn't imagine.

I just wish I knew exactly when Tommy was going to be in Texas!! All I know is MAYBE May or June. I don't even think they've confirmed the actual day he's leaving afghan. but they've already had them start packing up. I just don't know how things are going to play out whenever he has to leave and get's re-stationed(is that the word? I know absolutely no military terminology) to Ft. Campbell. Which, I'm pretty sure is enough hours away it would require a plane ride for me to go see him or him to come see me.

yeah, I'm in michigan... and hes stationed in florida.... sooooo im not really sure when I'm gonna see him next. hopefully august, or maybe july!

I just mapquested it, From my town to Ft. Campbell is 10 hours and 44 minutes. Eff that!

No girl it's completely okay for you to be frustrated chuck would do the same thing at mos training and I would feel the same way in my opinion I feel that us military SO's should he the first thing on their mind when they are not working but I' know it doesn't always work that way
