I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

I love to hear how people met and fell in love. For me, Mike and I met at a Toby Keith concert. Out of a crowd of thousands of strangers, we found each other by fate. We had what people call love at first sight. When I met him we only had five days until he had to leave for Afghanistan. The days leading up we went on so many dates and lived every moment to its fullest. Then he left and we fell deeper in love through writing and phone calls for eight months. When he came home everything was amazing and perfect. Now in our second deployment we are still going strong. :)

Permalink Reply by Marion Donahue on February 16, 2012 at 3:23pm Mine might be kind of lame. I was freshman, and he was senior... and I had the BIGGEST crush on him. We were at youth group, and we both got moved to the back. The entire time, I was just playing pranks on him. He is the most gullible person I know. I told him my birthday was the next day [he got me a gift! hahaha] and I told him I was in a band. Then I gave him a fake number and kept writing him fake coupons... I am weird... but it was really funny! The story of how we started dating is much more interesting though.
Permalink Reply by Jacqui Miret on February 16, 2012 at 3:34pm I met my man last April (I could even pin down a date. April 14th).
Four and a half months before Patrick left for BCT, I met him at a youth comedy improv group. I don't fully believe in love at first sight, but it sure was a freaking hard crush at first sight. I was already shy enough at my first night in that theatre group, but every time I was put in a scene with him, I almost couldn't manage it. At one point, he did a "surprise trust fall" (when it comes to improv, Patrick takes advantage of his high pain tolerance). My family likes to say that he's been falling for me since the beginning.
2 and a half months later I became his girlfriend.
2 months after that, I became his army girlfriend when he left for BCT.
7 and a half months together and he's my boyfriend, best friend, and pen pal. Most importantly, he's my love.

Permalink Reply by Erin Brooke on February 16, 2012 at 7:55pm We met on Halloween of 2005. I was with a bunch of my girlfriends and he was with a group of guys. We met up with him cuz my friend was dating one of his friends... and i thought he was a total creeper! haha. He was super "shy" so he didn't say anything to me pretty much the whole night he just kept looking at me and smiling. Every time i would turn around he was looking at me!!!! So at the end of the night when we were leaving and saying bye, he walked up to me... said bye (the first thing he said to me all night)... and lifted me up and hugged me and whispered to me that i was beautiful.. And here we are...married about 7 years later... :)

Permalink Reply by Alison Bessette on February 17, 2012 at 8:47am well, my boyfriend and i live an hour away from each other. he was a senior in high school and i was a sophomore in college. i knew he was friends with my cousin but didn't really know him. we were friends on facebook but didnt even talk. and one day he messaged me saying, " i'm going to marry you" and it went from there. we talked everyday. a week later we were dating. then we broke up, just because i was supposed to go to a school 6 hours away and he was supposed to be leaving sooner than expected. but there was just something about him. we were meant to be together. so we continued talkin and a month later we started dating again. i know its not anything special. but it is to me(:
Permalink Reply by Suzy Flor on February 17, 2012 at 9:31am My honey and I met in Junior year of high school, fifth period history. I remember the first day he walked into that class I thought he was soooo dreamy, lol. He was new to the class, so when he picked his seat he picked the one next to mine.
We would talked all the time and I always had a crush on him. When I finally got the guts to talk to tell him I liked him I found out he had a girlfriend so I backed off. He later switched schools and after high school we lost contact, we were both dating different people.
Which was weird 'cause his gf and my bf would hang out all the time and we thought it was odd. (we later found out that they cheated on us, with each other!!!)
Then like 3 years later I somehow saw him on FB so I added him and we started talking, I didn't even know he was in the military. He made a trip to come and see me two months later, and we have been together ever since.
2 years & 2 deployments.
Going strong & married to my sailor. :D
Permalink Reply by Amanda Frost on February 17, 2012 at 12:19pm My boyfriend and I met freshman year of high school and the following year we had math class together. We kinda went our separate ways. My mother ended up working with him for a few months and kept trying to get me to talk to him. In July of last year, my mother ran into my boyfriend and told him to get a hold of me. I went to his house for his birthday and we started hanging out every day until he asked me to be his girlfriend. :)
