I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

Permalink Reply by Chantelle on March 6, 2012 at 7:29pm Coming from a Marine whos been dating a Marine for years...youll be more than fine. The first thing I would say is that make sure your joining because you want to, not because you want to follow your Marine cause otherwise you will hate the Corps and thats only if you get through boot camp. That being said, it takes an amazing women to want to join the Marines, so congrats on that first step. Ive seen more friends of mine divorcing their civilian wives and ending up happily married with another Marine. We can understand them better, and relate better. The only thing I can imagine is he's saying that because of what the DI's are telling him...which you will find out what Im talking about when you reach beautiful Parris Island. Im telling you from experience, your relationship will be stronger than any other. You will be lovers, best friends and "brothers in arms" lol You know what I mean. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. I love female Marines, we are very few and very proud ;) Stay motivated!
Permalink Reply by Chantelle on March 7, 2012 at 3:23pm The DEP program is a great place :) So Im glad that I can answer some of your questions coming from the female Marine perspective. Im glad your dad reinforced what I was telling you ;) The training period will be hard because hell be in the fleet before you, but this will definetly make your relationship stronger in the long run. Joining the Marines was the best thing ive ever done, it taught me so much and its the strongest bond of friends youll ever have. Im currently in school and the sororities here tell me ill never know what it is to have a "sister" lol I say no your right cause their binge drinking builds more bonds than being in a combat zone and having your life depend on that other person...lol anyways Im a Sgt in the Marines and I have a lot of knowledge to pass on so please hit me up with anything you want to know. Whether its relationship related of boot camp/MCT/MOS school/promotions etc. :)
