I always wear my Marine Corps sweatshirt and I have a liscense plate that says "My heart belongs to a US Marine". Plus other things. I love to show my pride. How do you all show your pride?

I love the fact that no matter who I meet who has a loved one in the military, there's an immediate bond with that person. We just understand each other. What do you like?

I was reading something about a girls Marine dying across seas and although she was a different race and age I felt something...idk what. Maybe some connection I get with all the military wives/girlfriends...but I just started crying. I couldn't even finish reading. My heart broke for her and there two baby's and all the fear of my Marine dying in battle or just dying came to my mind. Sure ive thought of it, what girl hasn't, but it just hit me hard. I thought what would I do if that happened to me? But I don't think I would ever be prepared for that. I just pray I wont have to experience what she did. And I pray for her and her family.

Permalink Reply by Sarita Bowers on March 7, 2012 at 9:03am I think boot camp was the worst...but it also had some good times. :) I enjoyed writing to him and complaining about my work and family when I had a bad day. He seemed to like that I was keeping him updated and although he could write back a lot his letters were. Always fun to get. But yeah...I don't like to think about it when he is gone but sometimes. It just happens.

That is so sad, Mine hasn't gone to basic yet but he will be leaving soon and when I think about after he's done and sooBoot camp was the worst for be but it was also some good times...I enjoyed writing and getting letters from him. :) he was like my personal diary Lol I would complain to him about work and family...Lol I think he liked that I was still involving him in my daily life. But yeah I try not to be too upset when he leaves but its really hard when he is gone.
ner or later when he gets deployed i sometimes think of it. But you could never be prepared for it. It is devastating. Like the other girls said all you can do is pray. Her and Her family along with her Marine's family will be in my prayers. xoxo <3

Permalink Reply by Joshlyn Wallace on March 7, 2012 at 5:47pm I'm not much of a cryer, but I'm pretty sure men in uniform are beginning to taunt me. Every time I turn around there's a guy in a military uniform. Everywhere I go, there's someone, I'll be driving down the road and catch a glimpse of a guy in a car/truck w/ his uniform on! It's like they know I haven't seen Tommy in ages and still have at least a month to go, and they're just rubbing it in my face!
