Here is something to keep in mind if you have a loved one deployed. An Air Force Service member just wrote me this today:
"Also, just a tip that might be helpful to others. I love homemade cookies, and my mom likes to send me homemade cookies. The problem is that it takes two weeks to get here. ZipLock now makes vacuum seal bags that you can get from any grocery store. You just seal them, pull a plastic adhesive tab back, use any vacuum hose to suck out all the air and then close… Continue

We must take one day at a time when our loved ones are gone. To bite off anymore than that is just too much to swallow. If we look at deployments or any separation from our military loved ones as one chunk of time, it can be overwhelming and seem non-doable. So day by day we mark off a baby step toward that moment we dream about. The moment when our eyes meet and we are together again. We imagine the touch of their skin and the familiar scent we know so… Continue
